A. What is mail forwarding?
You can use mail forwarding to transfer every incoming e-mail to a certain e-mail address, to another e-mail address. The incoming mails will be transmitted to the e-mail address you entered and will be deposited in the mailbox or in another file, depending on the action of a filter.
B. How can I configure mail forwarding?
- Go to your mailbox via
Webmail
- Enter the mail address and the password
- Click on 'Settings'
- Click on 'General'
- In the field "Forward all mail to the following address:", you enter the e-mail address you want your mails to be send to.
- If you tick 'Don't deliver to this mailbox', no incoming e-mail will be in the mailbox of Register.eu. Incoming e-mails will be directly send to the e-mail address that was indicated.
- 'Click on 'Renew Preferences'.
C. How do we configure a mail filter?
- Go to your mailbox via
Webmail
- Enter the mail address and the password
- Click on 'Options'
- Click on 'Filters'
- Click on 'Add new filter'
The place of the filter in the list determines the order in which the filters will be proceed. First will come the first filter, than the second one and so on.
With these filters, you can proceed an action as certain conditions are fullfilled.
Example 1: You can classify all incoming mail for domain@name.com in the folder "domain".
Example 2: You can transfer all incoming mail that contains the word 'customer' to another e-mail address.
You can not proceed to different actions with the same criteria. The first filter (highest in the list) will determine which action will take place.
Example 3: You want to classify all incoming mail directed to domain@name.com in the folder "domain" and at the same time you want to transfer all incoming mail to another e-mail address. In 'Options - Filter', you create a filter that places the incoming mail in the folder "domain" and in 'Options - Forward all mail to the following address:" you fill in the e-mail address you want to transfer your mails to.
